Homeward bound...

Things have been a little crazy. It was discovered that I had some internal bleeding around my wound which was concerning since I was on IV blood thinners.

Fortunately, one of the nurses managed to get it under control and stopped the bleeding. It seemed better this morning and I got the okay from the doctor to go home.

My chauffeur and personal shopper Chris was kind enough to pick me up and she is now shopping for some groceries for me to take home.

I'm a little nervous about keeping an eye on any more signs of issues, but happy to be out of the hospital.

The doctor is now saying I might only need 4 more procedures, but need to wait at least another month for the next one. My body needs time to recover from the radiation and my kidneys need a break from all the contrast used.

Rest and recovery...

Sorry for the slow post procedure update. I've been pretty exhausted most of today. This time around didn't go quite so smoothly.

However, I'm off my mandatory bed rest and was admitted so I've just been resting in my room.

I've got my Positive Potato, tiny Eeyore, and a chocolate marshmallow with me so I figure things can only go well from here on out.

Rinse and repeat...

It's go time for procedure #2. It was another super early day, but I made it safe and sound thanks to my chauffeur Rory.

This time is a little less nerve wracking since I've done this all before.  Fingers crossed for a lather, rinse, and repeat with things going as smoothly this time. 🤞🏽

One more time...

I'm hoping everyone had a wonderful holiday with their loved ones! With Christmas over and done with, it's time for me to start to prep for procedure #2.

The next procedure is 2 more days and 2 more sleeps away. I was able to have a low key Christmas with extra rest before and after.

I'm feeling pretty good going into this 2nd procedure and not feeling as much anxiety since I've been through it once already.

The only thing I'm really dreading is the continued challenges we seem to have with IVs and blood draws. I have a bit of scarring at the sites from last week. Fingers crossed that this time might be a bit better!

I may be bringing a new friend I got for Christmas that traveled all the way to me from Disney World. He seems like he'd be good company. 😏

Home sweet home...

Sorry for the delayed update. I've been struggling with a really bad headache and some exhaustion.
First and foremost, I am now home from the hospital. So yay! My chauffeur Sarah braved the cold and frost to kindly rescue me from the hospital.

I'm pretty exhausted from not really sleeping the last couple nights, but doing okay overall. I have strict instructions to watch my wound, not lift/push/pull anything over 7-10lbs for awhile, and apparently hold myself when I cough or laugh.

So for the next couple weeks, can you all please try to not be too hilarious around me? I know it will be hard. 😆

I'm looking forward to a few days of rest before heading back to UW to do it all over again next week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and enjoys their time with their loved ones! ❤️ 🎄 🎅 🌟 ❄️

Hospitals & Hallmark Movies...

I made it through the procedure and the 2 hours in recovery. There were some touch and go moments with my IV situation yet again.

However, my surgeon said the procedure went really well. The bonus for me is that with the sedation, I don't remember anything from a bit after they told me they were going to give me meds to calm me, to being in the recovery room.

I've been struggling with some dizziness and low blood pressure, but overall I'm doing okay. Just some soreness from the procedure entry sites. I'm now settled in my hospital room.

Thanks to Jen, I have some sugar free marshmallows to enjoy and I found the Hallmark Channel. My plan is just to relax, recover, and watch some Hallmark Christmas movies. More later.

Here we go...

Today is procedure day #1. It was a very early morning, but I made it to UW safe and sound thanks to my chauffeur Jen.

One more day and sleep...

Well we are down to just one more day and one more sleep until procedure #1. I am actually doing a lot better than yesterday. Thank you all for the kind words and support!

All my Christmas stuff is pretty much done and all where it needs to be. I've got most things checked off my list so things feel less stressful today.

I am trying really hard not to think negative thoughts and focus on the positives for tomorrow. 🍀🌈🙏🙃

Final Countdown...

The days seem to be going by quickly and Friday is almost here. As some of you know, I'm starting to struggle with panic attacks about everything.

I kept so busy that I wasn't really able to obsess about the procedures and everything involved (risks, potential issues, recovery, etc.) Now that I've wrapped up most things, my brain is on overdrive.

Thanks for the kind words and helpful suggestions. Hopefully I will feel calmer soon and throughout the rest of this process. 🙏

Part Deux...

Unfortunately, my earlier attempt at finding a way to provide updates was a bust and we ran into some limitations. Trying this again. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏽

An Update & News

I've been home for a couple days now resting and trying to recover. I was really sore and exhausted, but doing better now. I did want to...
