An Update & News

I've been home for a couple days now resting and trying to recover. I was really sore and exhausted, but doing better now.

I did want to share some good news. For those I have not gotten the chance to update, my surgeon said I responded well to treatments and they think they got everything. It doesn't look like I will be needing the last 2 procedures and we are done with #4.

I'm really happy with this news. The plan is for me to come back in 3 months for a couple procedures to check how I'm doing and my pressure measurements. If all is stable, I will go to just having my condition monitored. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽

I wanted to say a special thanks to the people who have given so much of their time over the last couple years. This group of people went with me to my appointments or procedures and shuttled me to & from UW for my procedures. I couldn't have made it through everything without them.

Also, I want to say how much I appreciate all of you who reached out with encouragement and well wishes before procedures, all the positive thoughts, support, and all the outreach to check on how I was doing. I appreciate each and everyone one of you! I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in my life. Love you all! ❤️ 💕

Another one down...

Things went well so far. I'm just super sore where they went in for the procedure. I guess they had to put a lot of pressure this time to finish procedure.

I am out of recovery and mandatory bedrest though so just settling into my hospital room.

They put me in a room with some greenery as my view AND gave me a room with a fancy new hospital bed that is actually somewhat low to the ground. Yippee! No more having to crawl up or skooch ( it's totally a word!) like a kid to get on my bed.

Now to decide which yummy treat from my after procedure care package to have first!

Take 4

It's procedure day once again. We are now at procedure #4. It's been a rough night and morning. Had trouble sleeping and now dealing with some hand/joint pain.

One bright spot this morning was my ride to the hospital with Jen who not only was kind enough to shuttle me, but also made me an after procedure care package.  ❤️

Whoops

I just realized I never gave an update about going home. Although there was an overnight issue with blood getting too thin, they got everything under control by morning and I was able to go home.

My pickup Michele, made sure I had some nourishment and beverages to keep me hydrated before dropping me off safely at home.

The last few days have been a bit of a blur. This go around I've found I'm pretty exhausted and have pretty much just been sleeping on and off since I got home. I'm hoping I get a little more energy in the next few days before I go back to work and before the next procedure.

I am thankful to be done with one more procedure though and only 3 more to go. Just 1.5 weeks until the next procedure. I'm looking forward to having that next one behind me and getting a little longer break until late in May for procedure #5.

It's Been a Long Day

Sorry for the slow update, all. It's been a long day and I've been struggling with exhaustion from the long last few days.

This morning went pretty smoothly. Rory in all her awesomeness not only was my early morning driver again, but was so sweet to put together a post procedure snack care package.

The procedure went smoothly and as of now...no signs of internal bleeding or swelling this time around. *knock on wood* ✊🏽 🪵

My surgeon was really excited about the pressure measurements in my heart. He said it definitely shows that the treatments are working. Yay! I'm excited to see where I'm at at the end if he's this excited halfway through.

I'm in my hospital room just trying to relax and rest.  I've got my care package snacks and my support crew (Eeyore and Positive Potato) by my side again surrounding me with positive vibes.

And just like that...

Procedure day is tomorrow already. We are at procedure #3 so after this one, I will be officially halfway through my procedures.

It's been a stressful last few days and I've been dealing with a lot of physical challenges. There was also a chance of my procedure getting canceled due to things going on health wise.

Fortunately, the surgeon gave the go ahead late this afternoon and we are still a go. Hoping things go smoother tomorrow than the rest of this week.

Thanks to all who reached out with well wishes and for all the positive thoughts my way. I appreciate it. 🙏 ❤️

Almost go time...

It's just a few more days (and a few more sleeps as kids would say) until the next procedure. I was a bit in denial that it was so close last week when the nurse called to do a pre-check. I asked her why she was calling so early for that. She reminded me that it was the week before my procedure.

I'm scurrying around trying to get life in order. Making sure to tie up loose ends with work and prep everything else in life.

I'm hoping things go relatively well again. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏽

I'm looking forward to seeing how much better I'll feel after this next set of procedures.
